P90x Review: Muscle Confusion?

One of the major reasons that P90x works so well is a simple method that is employed called “Muscle Confusion”. In principle, this fairly easy to understand concept is that your body can become used to the exercises that you perform if you are working the same muscles all of the time and then switching to another set after a while. The muscle mass or the weight loss that you are trying to produce reaches a “plateau” that is difficult to get over when this happens. However, with muscle confusion, you are actually confusing the body so it doesn’t know what is coming next!
The P90x review sites that are on the Internet have all commented on how well this type of system works. They also state, in no uncertain terms, that this exercise regimen is not for everybody! Tony Horton, who does the video training while you follow along, does state that the majority of the training is strength training and that it should be used by people who are already in fairly good shape.
